Rustam Sabirov

Bio: 

Rustam Sabirov is Associate Professor (2014 to the present) at the Moscow State University, Institute of Asian and African Studies, and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 2004 he defended his PhD in History at the MSU. The subject of the dissertation was “Religious Situation in Contemporary Mongolia (end of 1980s – 2000s)”.  His main interests are the history of Mongolia, history of Buddhism in Tibet, Mongolia and Russia, Buddhism in the modern world, and anthropology of religion.
